A Leaders Character

A leader can be compared to a manager, according to the mobile version of the Advance Learners Dictionary, a leader is someone who controls something (nation, organisation etc). It wont be wrong to say that a leader is one who directs, organizes, commands, controls and coordinates. And that perhaps will be an approach from the fundamental management idealogy. Here are some qualities a leader should possess: -Confident: A leader should be sure of himself. He should be void of biases. -Humility: A leader should be meek, lowly and humble. No greater character exists! -Aim and Purpose: To be a leader, there must be a purpose. Who are you leading? Why are you leading? And what aim must you achieve in this leadership entrusted on you? -Focus: Being focused is very important. A leader passes through a test of time which involves tests on endurance, patience, ability to control self in esteem times and pressures, but what actually makes him a leader is his ability to keep his focus on his aim(s). -People Centred: A leader as the name suggests has people to lead. And these peoples welfare are his utmost priority. So a leader does not think of himself first, rather he seeks the good of all the people under his care and attention. Also, he listens to the suggestions and aspirations of the people he leads. This is an important character a leader must possess. -Creative: This distinguishes leaders from rulers. To be a leader you must be able to have ideas that are uncommon and you must be willing to work towards those ideas. -Dreamer and Thinker: A corollary to being Creative, a leader must think the 'unthinkable' and plan to do the 'undoable'. A leader does not settle for what comes but tries to shape what may come with time. In other words a leader thinks, he must be positive and should always expect the best. -Bold and Mentally Sound: A leader should be mentally sound. A lunatic, an infant or someone having some mental disablilty does not have the capacity to lead. So being a leader goes beyond the physical. It is divine and charismatic. A leader is not always born as in some cases but can be made through experiences and exposures. So being a leader is not beyond your reach. Make an impact today!
